FAQ

Can I give anonymously?

Yes. You can give without your name appearing anywhere, and if you'd like to be recognized without being named, Open Fields Alliance lists you as Anonymous in the donor circles. Nobody's name is published without their explicit permission.

What does a $1,500 gift pay for?

A full Annual Conference scholarship - registration and travel for one person who would otherwise not attend. Smaller gifts help too: $150 to $200 keeps a student's registration affordable, and $50 keeps a community webinar free. Open Fields Alliance scholarships are open to LGBTQ+ people and allies working or studying in food and agriculture, with no requirement to document hardship.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Open Fields Alliance, formerly Cultivating Change Foundation, is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. No goods or services are provided in return. The organization's Tax ID is provided on your receipt.

Where does my donation go?

Individual gifts to Open Fields Alliance are the least restricted funding the organization has, so they cover what corporate sponsorship doesn’t - Annual Conference scholarships not tied to a sponsor’s name, affinity groups that are free to attend, and campus chapters in places where starting one is harder.
